چکیده
A 35-year-old man visited us with a chief complaint of painful swelling of the finger. A physical examination revealed a palpable mass, measuring approximately 2 cm × 1 cm, on the dorsoradial side of the base of the middle phalanx of the right index finger (Fig. 1A). Upon history taking, we found that the mass had formed 7 to 8 years before and had since grown slowly. The mass had a firm, hard, discrete, and immobile consistency. An X-ray revealed a translucent, osteolytic lesion at the base of the middle phalanx; this lesion was eccentrically located to the cortex (Fig. 1B). The Chondromyxoid Fibroma of the Finger

Tumor has a high recurrance rate. Our aim was to show successful treatment of a metacarpal chondromyxoid fibroma with wide resection and implantation of finger join endoprosthesis.

Chondromyxoid fibroma (CMF) is perhaps the rarest of all bone tumors. Classically it occurs in the metaphyseal region of the long bones surrounding the knee. The small bones of the feet are also commonly involved. But CMF occurring in small bones of the hand, however, is very uncommon. Tuberculous dactylitis is referred to as spina ventosa. The bones of the hands are more frequently affected th...

Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare benign bone tumor. The etiology of chondromyxoid fibroma is still unknown. We report a case of a 26-year-old male who suffered from chronic cough for a year. His chest radiograph showed a lobulated tumor over the left seventh rib. The computed tomography (CT) examinat ion further revealed an osteolytic tumor arising from the left seventh rib with calcified matrix...
متن کاملChondromyxoid fibroma involving the sphenoid sinus: Case report and literature review
We present the case of a 62-year-old woman with chondromyxoid fibroma of the sphenoid sinus. Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare bone tumor found most prevalently in long bones, so its presence at the cranial base is especially uncommon. The presence of a monoclonal gammopathy of undermined significance (MGUS) prompted consideration and investigation of a plasma cell disorder; however, CT and MRI f...
